Margaret Sholar

Hi, I am Margaret Sholar, and I am an EL teacher for Etowah County Schools and serve students here at West End Elementary, West End High School, Whitesboro Elementary, Sardis Middle School and Highland Elementary. I have been an educator in Etowah County for over nineteen years. I have Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Jacksonville State University and a Master's of Arts Degree in English as a Second Language from The University of Alabama Birmingham. I was a classroom teacher for nine years and a reading specialist for ten years, and now am blessed to be an EL Teacher. I have taught kindergarten, second grade, and third grade with the majority of my classroom experience being in third grade. I love the work I do now because it allows me to work very closely to not only our students but our teachers and staff as well. This work produces a positive impact on learning that multiplies throughout our schools. When I became an EL Teacher, I had two lofty goals: help kids become stronger learners and help my colleagues guide EL students to success. Here at ECBOE, these goals are being met everyday.
