Parental
Involvement

Parents and Teachers Working Together
Students achieve the
greatest success in
school when their parents and teachers have
an open line of communication. Glencoe Elementary
teachers desire and encourage parents to
communicate through notes, conferences or phone
calls. When parents are involved in their child’s
education in a supportive way, it tells the child
that their school work is important.
Ways Parents Can Support Their “Student”
1. Set a certain
time each evening for homework.
2. Expect your child
to have homework.
3. Know the
teacher’s routine for homework.
4. Look over
your child’s papers every day.
5. Know the
day(s) when tests are given.
6. Be positive
when reviewing your child’s work.
7. Help your
child to be organized and prepared.
8. Check on the
condition of your child’s school
supplies. (Crayons, pencils, erasers,
glue, etc.)
