Glencoe Elementary School

Counseling Program

2006-2007

Classroom Guidance Sessions will follow monthly themes that incorporate ASCA National Standards and state program guidelines for guidance instruction: Academic Development, Career Development, and Personal/Social Development. We are using Character Counts! “TRRFCC” character traits-Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship. Videos and special programs are used and scheduled to supplement Classroom Guidance. Ten percent of the Counselor’s time is spent on “Safe and Drug Free Schools.” Character Education is taught daily during the morning announcements. Individual and small groups are scheduled and conducted as needed.
