ECBOE Board Meetings / Overview

The Etowah County Board of Education meets on a monthly basis for regularly scheduled meetings on the first Tuesday following the first Monday of each month. Additional meetings are called as needed. A calendar for the board meetings is provided below.

The Board consists of one (1) member for each of our seven school districts. The members are elected for six year terms. The Superintendent of Education is appointed by the board and serves as secretary to the Etowah County Board of Education

The Etowah County Board of Education holds an annual meeting each year on the third Tuesday in November. At this meeting the board elects one of its members to serve as president and one to serve as vice-president.
