{Laptop} Technology is being utilized in a variety of ways at HBMS. During exploratory classes, technology skills listed in the Technology Education Course of Study are taught to students. Promethean boards have been installed in each language arts classrooms. In the library, a Smartboard is utilized for instruction. All grade levels are using the Internet for research projects and for creating presentations about content learned. For the third year, HBMS has received a grant from Council for Leaders in Alabama Schools (CLAS) to use an Internet-based program called KidsCollege: Learning Through Sports. This is a reading and math program where students answer reading and math questions and then receive time to play a sports-themed video game. All reading and math classes have scheduled time in a computer lab for SuccessMaker. We are now at a point where we must educate our children in what no one knew yesterday, and prepare our schools for what no one knows yet. ~Margaret Mead
