My name is Shara Callahan. I am originally from Fort Payne, Alabama, but now reside in Etowah County. I graduated from Jacksonville State University in December 2007 with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education and am a highly-qualified teacher according to NCLB standards. This is my third year to teach Kindergarten, and my second year at Carlisle. I am very excited to be back. I look forward to another wonderful year!!

Aside from the children in my classroom, at home I have two more. Madelyn is six years old and Andrew is four years old. We also have a dog named Ellie.

When I am not working in my classroom or on my lessons, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I also like to swim, crochet, fish, canoe, ride four wheelers, and trail ride in Jeeps. My children and I attend First Baptist Church of Glencoe.

One of the most exciting things for me is to see the look on a child's face when they learn something new. Learning is a life-long process that children should be taught to enjoy. In my classroom, learning is fun and exciting!
